NRG Stadium, Houston, Texas
Indianapolis Colts are travelling to face the Huston Texans, where both sides are competing for first place in the AFC South. This will be the second meeting between the two in six weeks. Where in the last meeting, Indianapolis won Huston 30-23 at home.
Both teams are coming with a 6-4 record for the season, where the Colts broke a losing streak by winning 33-13 over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. The Texans are coming off the back of a devastating 41-7 loss to the Baltimore Ravens that snapped a 2-game winning streak.
Colts’ leading rusher, Running Back Marlon Mack is injured with a broken hand, but teammate RB Jonathan Williams stepped up and so far carried 13 times for 116 yards. Quarterback Jacoby Brissett who’s carrying a knee injury so far threw 15 for 1,797 yards and 4 interceptions, with a 64.6% completion. The Colts defense has been sound, but not dominant in any specific area, allowing 325.6 yards, and 22.7 per game.
Texans’ Quarterback Deshaun Watson completed 5 touchdowns and 0 interceptions on the two wins against Jacksonville Jaguars and Oakland Raiders. But run into the ground on the last game against the Baltimore Ravens. He took six sacks, committed two turnovers and throw for only 169 yards. Still, other than the interceptions (6) this season, Watson seems much better than Colts’ QB Brissett, with 2,601 yards for 18 touchdowns, with a 69.5% completion.
Huston’s Wide Receiver DeAndre Hopkins is second in the NFL with 75 receptions this season, and Running Back Carlos Hide is also a source of Texan power with 769 yards and 4 touchdowns.
Despite the Texans devastating loss to the Ravens last week, they still have a better overall advantage over the Colts in almost all areas. Many of these small advantages can make a big difference, and there’s the home advantage too.
Final Score: Texans to win 26-23 and not cover the spread
Spread: Texans -3.5 (42%) / Colts +3.5 (58%)
O/U: 45 Over (66%) / Under (34%)
