Heinz Field, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
This is the a tight stretch for the Pittsburgh Steelers (4-4), who are facing the L.A. Rams (5-3), reining NFC Champions, Sunday. Then, the Steelers travel to Cleveland to face the Bears on Thursday.
The Steelers didn’t start the season on a high note, with the devastating 33-3 Week 1 loss to arch-rivals New England Patriots, and the loss of legendary QB Ben Roethlisberger. But since then Pittsburgh picked up a 3-game winning streak, last beating the Indianapolis Colts 26-24 on Week 9.
The Rams are coming off two impressive wins, 24-10 over the Cincinnati Bangles and 37-10 over the Atlanta Falcons, on Weeks 8 and 7 respectively. What more? The Rams are coming well rested and prepared after a bye week.
Defensively, the teams are similar, with the Rams allowing 21.8 points per game, and the Steelers 21.1. LA’s offense is better though, scoring 26.8 points per game (compared to the Pittsburgh’s 22.0).
The Steelers can still hold their ground, under the leadership of an experienced coach like Mike Tomlin. Still, if Rams’ quarterback Jared Goff and wide receiving Brandin Cooks have a good day, or the Rams get a late field goal curtesy of Greg “the Leg” Zuerlein; the Steelers Fans at Heinz Field will not get the win they were hoping for.
Final Score: Rams to win 26-23 and not cover the spread.
Spread: Rams -3.5 (65%) / Steelers +3.5 (35%)
Line: 44.5 Over (57%) / Under (43%)
