Maryland at Ohio State – College Football Week 11 Preview, News and Predictions.

Maryland at Ohio State

12:00 PM ET, Saturday, November 9, 2019
Ohio Stadium, Columbus, Ohio

Struggling University of Maryland Terrapins are travelling to Columbus for a Big Ten showdown at the Ohio State Buckeyes.

The Buckeye hosts are currently ranked third in the Top 25 AP Rankings, and are a clear and present danger to the visiting Terrapins, who seem to be having a rollercoaster of a season so far.

Ohio State are holding a record of 8-0, coming off the back of a 38-7 win against Wisconsin on Saturday.  The Buckeyes are ranked number one in the country with points allowed (7.9), and QB Justin Fields threw so far 1,659 yards for 24 touchdowns.  Ohio’s offense ranks third in the nation for scoring 48.3 points per game.  Against Wisconsin, Ohio’s defense allowed only 191 yards.

Maryland’s record is 3-6 makes things even worse, with 1-3 on the road, and a 4-game losing streak.  The Terrapins started the season with a bang, winning the first three games with a combined score of 142.  They were then shot down by Penn State, losing 59-0, won Rutgers (48-7) and went into their current 4 game losing streak.

The last being a landslide 38-7 defeat to Michigan on Saturday.  Running Back Javon Leake was the only one that put points on the board for Maryland against Michigan with 97-yard kickoff return for a touchdown, and the Terps were outplayed 331 to 233 yards and managed only one turnover.

So yeah, last year when hosting the Buckeyes at College Park, Maryland did give Ohio some tense moments of worry, but even then Ohio managed to win by a point (52-51).  Now it’s a new season, and even if Maryland did start the season looking strong, the Terrapins scored only 124 points in losing six out of their last seven games.

Sadly, we don’t see that changing this coming Saturday at Ohio.

Predictions

Final Score: Ohio State to win 56 – 7

Spread: Ohio -42.5 (63%) / Maryland +42.5 (37%)

Over (60%) / Under (40%): 63
