Football on a pitch

Week 14 in college football is going to explode with old-time rivalries, and as things heat up towards the championships and bowls, new rivalries will be created for sure.  Here are the Week 14 games you don’t want to miss.

#23 Virginia Tech at Virginia

12:00 PM ET, Friday, November 29, 2019
Scott Stadium, Charlottesville, Virginia

The Virginia Tech Hokies are travelling to face the Virginia Cavaliers, with both sides looking pretty tied up.  Both coming with an 8-3 record, on the back of a 3-game winning streak, average points scored of 31 and 33.2 for the Hokies and Cavaliers respectively, and the defense of both sides also allowing points within the 22 mark per game.

So where do things get interesting? It’s definitely in the history side of things.  The Cavaliers are on a 15-game losing streak against the Hokies.  They haven’t beaten them since 2003.  Will this be their chance to break this bad spell? This is a winner-takes-it-all game for the ACC Coastal Championship, and possibly a ticket to the Orange Bowl.

Final Score: Virginia Tech to win 24-10 outright

Spread: Virginia Tech -2.5 (57%) / Virginia +2.5 (43%)

O/U: 47.5 Over (38%) / Under (62%)

#19 Cincinnati at #18 Memphis

3:30 PM ET, Friday, November 29, 2019
Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium, Memphis, Tennessee

The Cincinnati Bearcats are travelling to face the Memphis Tigers, in a faceoff of two teams with a 10-1 record, for what can be the first of a two-game round.  The Bearcats already secured the ACC East, and the Tigers are now 6-1 in the ACC West, tied with the Navy.  The Tigers won their last three ACC games, and are coming with a stronger offense (42.2 points scored per game, vs. Bearcats’ 29.9).

Final Score: Memphis to win 35-21 outright

Spread: Memphis -11.5 (40%) / Cincinnati +11.5 (60%)

O/U: 57.5 Over (60%) / Under (40%)

#1 Ohio State at #13 Michigan

12:00 PM ET, Saturday, November 30, 2019
Michigan Stadium, Ann Arbour, Michigan

Second-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes (11-0) go into this faceoff against No. 11 Michigan Wolverines (9-2).  The Wolverines didn’t win the Buckeyes since 2011, and even though they came into last year’s match between the two with a higher ranking, the Buckeyes still managed to come out with an impressive 62-39 win.  So will things change on Saturday? Unless Michigan pulls off a major upset, Ohio will see through this game its perfect record.

Final Score: Ohio to win 35-21 outright

Spread: Ohio -9 (55%) / Michigan +9 (45%)

O/U: 57.5 Over (60%) / Under (40%)

#3 Clemson at South Carolina

12:00 PM ET, Saturday, November 30, 2019
Williams-Brice Stadium, Columbia, South Carolina

The Clemson Tigers are holding a perfect season record of 11-0, they won 26 straight games overall, of which 22 are consecutive home wins.  However this Saturday is all about a 6-game winning streak.  That’s right, the Tigers will try to top the Gamecocks 6-game winning streak between the two through 2009 and 2013.  Since then, Clemson turned things around and are now looking to top their 5-game winning streak against the South Carolina, who are coming on the back of a 2-game losing streak, and a season record of 4.7.

Final Score: Clemson to win 42-10 outright

Spread: Clemson -27 (60%) / South Carolina +27 (40%)

O/U: 50.5 Over (69%) / Under (31%)

#5 Alabama at #15 Auburn

3:30 PM ET, Saturday, November 30, 2019
Jordan-Hare Stadium, Auburn, Alabama

Fifth-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide will fight for postseason glory when travelling to face No. 15 Auburn Tigers.  The Crimson Tide need to win the Tigers in order to clinch one of the four playoff spots.  Alabama are coming in on the back of a 2-game winning streak with a 10-1 record, and Auburn on the back of one win are on 8-3.  Alabama were ranked No. 1 for the Iron Bowl in 2016, 2017 and 2018, but are now No. 5.  So this may all come down to a Quarterback showdown between Alabama’s Mac Jones (as Tua Tagovailoa isn’t fit to play due to injury) and Auburn’s Freshman Bo Nix.

Final Score: Alabama to win 45-30 outright

Spread: Alabama -3 (63%) / Auburn -3 (37%)

O/U: 50 Over (57%) / Under (43%)
